Come learn with new farmers Craig and Mary-Beth Gardner in their first year preparing to establish milkweed at Asclepias Farm.
We will learn about their production goals, and how planting milkweed as a pollinator plant and niche crop fits into those goals. We will also talk about the farm’s preparations and challenges around milkweed production, environmental and economic considerations and agronomics, and see a seeding demonstration as they begin to establish their crop. This workshop is brought to you by the UVM Extension Center for Sustainable Agriculture and the Northwest Crops & Soils Team, the White River Natural Resources Conservation District and the Connecticut River Watershed Farmers Alliance.
One Water Quality education credit, pending.
